A great focal point for a party about music. Note the drumsticks and African thumb pianos around it. This party also included lyrics on the table that became a quiz for guests to play. Activities at the party - give kids drumsticks and have the drummer pound out rhythms for them to repeat, "Name That Tune," music trivia contest (see the "Concert" theme for more musical ideas) and, our favorite, a table where everyone can make a rainstick. See full instructions in MitzvahChic.

These go on the "Song" table shown in MitzvahChic. They're imprinted with popular lyrics - we used iron-on transfer paper to put the lyrics on fabric, but now there's a great product that lets you print right on fabric (go to www.printedtreasures.com). Have quiz sheets on the table for the guests to guess the artist, song, year (however difficult you want to make it). Award prizes. The Torah has several songs and ends with the song of Moses, a hymn and history designed to be a remembrance and inspiration. The party is a celebration of how we've all learned from and been inspired by song.
